Remember 9/11

Another day that will live in Infamy

By: Pak Victor de Thouars

September 11, 2001 and days after its aftermath our ability to find the right words failed us. Finding ourselves in a bad movie playing a role as bystanders and not able to move. We became angry to have seen first hand the horror how Terrorist committed unmentionable Heinous crime in a four-prong attack by destroying the twin WTC in New York on any of the news channels.

The next morning people awaken to the news of the airspace of the Pentagon has been broken and that the Pentagon was hit by the same Evil. It is only with the courage of the crew and passengers the forth plane did not land in a populated area, it landed in an empty field in Pennsylvania. Experiencing these attacks, and graphically seen by all on the news channels the horrors at the Twin Towers, coming down in a cloud of dust, left us in extreme horror and bewilderment.  Besides the THOUSANDS of real live, what was destroyed was the Symbol of the United States of America; deeper then any words can describe now.  Out lives will be forever changed.

The united states has always offered our land to live in with graces no matter what gender, race any one was, an expression that has been offered since its birth in 1776. “Our land the Unites States of America Givers to Nations”, you have been Now the sleeping giants awaken again to show its strength in its people. These Terrorists have tried in a feeble Evil attempted to destroy the United States.

September 11, 2001 is now, and will be remembered as one of the blackest day for all of mankind and will live in a day of infamy. Quoting President Roosevelt when the Japanese Empire attacked Pearl Harbour at that time and day in our History, of December 7, 1941.  This Heinous Evil act shocked the whole world, friends and former foes laid down many candles and flowers in front of the American Embassies in many of the lands around the world.  Photos of people in the world, showing total solidarity, all walks of life grieving as we in our country grieve, for our fallen countryman and foreign nationals that perished and are still missing caused by the Evil.  The one symbol to find and express the sorrow and show unity was the symbol of our freedom. We all grieve for all who perished and missing and all the friends and direct family members, and bow our heads in grieve for and with them. The consoling words and pride that gives our nation and the people of all walks life the a sense of unity and solidarity as the symbol of our nation.

I AM THE FLAG OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

I am the flag of the United States of America. My name is Old Glory.

I fly atop the world's tallest buildings.

I stand watch in America's halls of justice.

I fly majestically over institutions of learning.

I stand guard with power in the world. Look up and see me.

I stand for peace, honor, truth and justice.

I stand for freedom.

I am confident.

I am arrogant.

I am proud.

When I am flown with my fellow banners, my head is a little higher, my colors a little truer.

I bow to no one!

I am recognized all over the world. I am saluted.

I am loved - I am revered. I am respected - and I am feared.

I have fought in every battle of every war for more then 200 years.

I was flown at Valley Forge, Gettysburg, Shiloh and Appomattox.

I was there at San Juan Hill, the trenches of France, in the Argonne Forest, Anzio, Rome and the beaches of Normandy, Guam. Okinawa, Korea and Ke-San, Saigon, Vietnam now me, I was there. I led my troops, I was dirty, battle worn and tired, but my soldiers cheered me and I was proud. I have been burned, torn and trampled on the streets of countries I have helped set free. It does not hurt, for I am invincible. I have been soiled upon, burned, torn and trampled on the streets of my country.

And when it’s by those whom I've served in battle - it hurts. But I shall overcome - for I am strong. I have slipped the bonds of Earth and stood watch over the uncharted frontiers of space from my vantage point on the moon. I have borne silent witness to all of America's finest hours.

But my finest hours are yet to come. When I am torn into strips and used as bandages for my wounded comrades on the battlefield, when I am flown at half-mast to honor my soldier, Or when I lie in the trembling arms of a grieving parent at the grave of their fallen son or daughter, I am proud.

MY NAME IS OLD GLORY.

LONG MAY I WAVE.
