Pak Victor de Thouars has been recognized as a prominent Pukulan Pentjak Silat Serak® guru since the early 1960’s. He has contributed much over the years in his endeavors, however there continues to be some people who are consistently and publicly denying that he holds this status. Pak Victor is very saddened by all this, and it is my opinion and my doing, that this certificate should come out into the open. It is not a justification, it is the truth of one lineage of Pukulan Pentjak/Pencak Silat Serak®. (Even though Pak Vic had trained in Serak® well prior to “working out” with Paul. )
The certificate below is placed here because these people, including Pendekar Paul deThouars himself, have been publicly denying that Pak Victor de Thouars has any knowledge of Serak®, which is of course total nonsense. This certificate is one of TWO certificates (Click here to see the text of the other one..) presented to Pak Victor by his brother, certifying Pak Victor in the complete art of Serak® and to be Paul’s successor, AND 7th Degree Maha Guru “in the martial art Pukulan Pencak Silat Serak”. Pendekar Paul has been denying his ‘little brother’ any status in the Serak®line for a long time now (for whatever personal or political reasons), yet the certificate presented here tells a much different story... There are also copies of various magazine articles written many years ago that declare in public, by Pendekar Paul, that Pak Victor is a fully accomplished Serak® practitioner, and is to be Pendekar Paul’s successor.
If then Pendekar Paul still refutes this evidence, what good then are any of his rankings, and then, what of his own status, does he not then bring himself down? Are then all of his students to be denied, too?
...And that’s the way it is....
